SANS 1507-3 and 1507-4 SWA-PVC 1kV Cables

As part of our portfolio of South African National Standard (SANS) cables, the SANS 1507-3 and SANS 1507-4 cables are PVC sheathed low voltage power transmission for a rated voltage of 0.6/1kV. They are commonly specified in wide range of industrial projects, including mining, petrochemical, and infrastructure. 

SANS 1507-3 and 1507-4 Cable Specification

These SANS 1507 cables are armoured, and are available with either PVC or XLPE insulation: The SANS 1507-3 cable is XLPE insulated providing for a maximum conductor operating temperature of +90oC. It is identifiable by the black sheath with red stripe. The SANS 1507-4 cable on the other hand has PVC insulation, meaning a +70oC maximum temperature and sheathed in black PVC with a blue stripe for identification.

Both versions offer a mechanically protected cable that is suitable for direct burial in the ground.

It should be noted that whilst these cables are 1kV, the provisions of the SANS 1507 standard also makes voltages up to 3.3kV available on request.

The construction of the SANS 1507-4 cable is consistent with N2XRY and the British standard BS5467 multicore cables.
