N2XSEY XLPE PVC - 6/10 (12)kV Cable
N2XSEY cables are three-core class 2 stranded copper medium voltage cables manufactured in accordance with IEC 60502-2, European Standard VDE 0276 Part 620, and HD620 standard. They have a cross-linked polyethylene (PE) insulation, copper wire screen, and a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) oversheath, which makes them particular easy to lay even in difficult line guideways and in temperatures as low as -5oC. As with all MV cables, there is an inner and outer layer of semi-conductive material to smooth out the internal discharges and maintain operational reliability.
N2XSEY Cable Specification
N2XSEY cables are widely used in the building and construction, renewable energy, and power transmission industries where the cables can be laid directly into the ground or cable ducts.
This range of Medium Voltage cables is compliant with VDE 0482-332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1, being flame retardant and self-extinguishing. The red oversheath is not UV resistant, preventing installation of the cable in direct sunlight. Should UV resistance be required, please discuss directly with the team at point of quotation and this can be specified.
N2XSEY cable voltage rating
The three-core N2XSEY cable is most commonly requested in a voltage rating of 6/10kV but higher voltages are available on request and N2XSEY cable datasheets can be provided. Single core variants of this cable - known by the designation N2XSY - have datasheets available in the following voltages:
- 6/10kV
- 12/20kV
- 18/30kV

Selecting and specifying N2XSEY cables will be determined by the system design, the installation parameters, and the environmental conditions the cable will face during its lifetime. The technical datasheet will have dimensional and electrical characteristics, but additional support including cable sizing can be provided by our technical team.
Consideration may also be given to the aluminium alternative - NA2XSEY - on projects where space is not a constraint given the larger overall diameter of aluminium cables with the same voltage rating.
