The H05BZ5-F and H07BZ5-F cables are part of Eland Cables' EV portfolio, offering an end-to-end, grid to car solution for electric vehicle charging. They are AC charging cables for plug-in connections running from car to charging unit, to be terminated with a moulded plug, whether universal format or model specific..
The H05BZ5-F cable and H07BZ5-F cable are suitable for domestic (Mode 1) and some public fast-charge units (Mode 2 and 3 - AC) and are manufactured in accordance with the harmonised European standard EN 50620.
The standard IEC/EN 61851-1 prescribes the charging modes the cables are suitable for: the H05BZ5-F cable with its conductors up to 2.5mm2 fulfils the criteria for AC domestic charging units for electric vehicles (classified as Mode 1). These cables have a rated voltage of 300/500V, suitable for single-phase current circuits.
The H07BZ5-F cables are covered under the harmonised standard to a cross-sectional area size of 35mm2, and are suitable for 'Mode 2' AC charging units up to 22kW and 'Mode 3' AC charging to 43kW. These cables offer three-phase current charging as the larger conductor sizes have a higher voltage rating of 450/750V.
These multicore cables all have rubber insulated flexible copper conductors, laid up alongside control (CC) and pilot (CP) cores of 0.5mm2 and 1.0mm2 for communication, all sheathed in a halogen-free Polyurethane. PUR is a hard-wearing, tear resistant material with good resistance to oils and greases. It is suitable for permanent external installation.
Where an AC max voltage of 0.6/1kV is required, the Eland EV Charging cable should also be considered (also suitable for DC charge to 1.8kV).
