IEC60502-1 AL-XLPE 1kV Cables

These Low Voltage Aluminium conductor cables are for power distribution applications and can be applicable to most industries. The choice of outer sheathing in Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) materials, mean they can be well suited to internal or external installations as required. The inclusion of Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation adds to their suitability, allowing for a maximum conductor operating temperature of +90^oC.

Manufactured in accordance with International standard IEC 60502-1, these AL-XLPE cables with a rated voltage of 0.6/1kV are commonly specified in renewable, battery storage, and clean energy projects, as well as e-Mobility infrastructure installations - but they are versatile and used across EMEA.

The choice of aluminium conductors makes them significantly more lightweight than copper conductors offering a comparable current carrying capacity; but this should be considered alongside the increased overall diameter of aluminium vs copper. External installations, and those without space constraints, may choose to specify the AL-XLPE 1kV cables.
