Applications Overview

Our WRAS-approved Drincable 800 Cable is designed for permanent submersion in potable water up to a depth of 800 metres. This submersible cable is suitable for use where improved chemical and abrasion resistance is required, including in submersible pumps for mining applications, in depuration or chlorination systems, for swimming pool lighting, aquariums, and systems processing and preserving food and drink intended for human consumption.

The Drincable 800 is water resistance tested to the European standard EN 505825-2-21 (AD8 condition) and meets the requirements of BS 6920 covering the suitability of non-metallic materials and products for use in contact with water.

Drincable submersible cable dimensions

The Drincable 800 cable is available as a single core, 3-core and 4-core cable in cross sectional sizes ranging from 1.5mm2 up to 500mm2. 3-core cables and 4-core cables include a Green/Yellow insulated core for earthing.

WRAS Approved

This submersible product holds WRAS approval, demonstrating its compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, and making it suitable for use in installations across every UK water supplier. The Drincable cable is tested to assure both performance whilst submerged, and to ensure the cable materials including sheathing do not affect water quality.

This submersible cable, used extensively in the water treatment industry, has a voltage rating of 0.6/1kV and a temperature rating of -25oc to +90oC. It is suitable for use in water of a maximum temperature of 80oC.
