Standard / Voltage Rating: IEC 60502-2, generally to HD620-10R. 6/10kV, 8.7/15kV, 12/20kV and 18/30kV. Flame retardant to IEC/EN 60332-1.
Construction: Class 2 Stranded Copper or Aluminium conductor, Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, Copper wire screen, and outer sheath of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC).

These PVC-sheathed Medium Voltage cables are manufactured to IEC 60502-2 and generally to HD620-10R for use in Poland in power distribution networks.

They are used in primary power networks and for the connection of heavy-duty equipment including transformers and switching blocks.

The cables use the Polish naming convention but are the same construction as the German N2XSY & NA2XSY and Austrian E-2XHCY & E-A2XHCY cables.

The table below references the letters and numbers as they relate to the constructional elements and materials used. Please note that under HD620 10R the only option for insulation material is XLPE (Cross-linked Polyethylene) so there is no separate designation for this element.

Sheathing in PVC, these cables are suitable for external installation, both buried directly in the ground or in buried cable ducts, as well as being suitable for internal installation on tray or ladder.

The Class 2 stranded Copper conductors make for a heavier cable than the Aluminium YHAKXS equivalent, but the increased current carrying capacity makes for smaller overall diameter cable so they are often preferred for internal use.

As is consistent with HD620-10R, the insulation material is XLPE (cross-linked Polyethylene), which supports a +90oC maximum operating temperature. The Copper Wire screen supports electromagnetic protection, preventing interference with adjacent cable installations.

The cable is CPR-Compliant providing flame retardant properties to IEC 60332-1-2. It is also UV stable and UV resistant.

These XLPE/CWS/PVC cables are available in the following voltages:

6/10 (12)kV – Test Voltage 21kV
8.7/15 (17.5)kV – Test Voltage 30.45kV
12/20 (24)kV – Test Voltage 42kV
18/30 (36)kV – Test Voltage 63kV
