E-2XHLCY and E-A2XHLCY Cables

The E-2XHLCY and E-A2XHLCY Cables further expand Eland Cables' portfolio of Medium Voltage cables. Referenced using the Austrian designation, they are single core XLPE insulated and PVC sheathed. In terms of construction and application, they are the same as the German nomenclature N2XSY and NA2XSY.

E-2XHLCY Cable & E-A2XHLCY Cable Specification

With E-2XHLCY Cables having Copper conductors and E-A2XHLCY Cables having Aluminium conductors, it provides specifiers with the ability to adapt to the installation environment. 

Aluminium E-A2XHLCY cables are more suited to installation designs without space constraints, given that to achieve parity in currently carrying capacity with the E-2XHLCY Copper cable you would need to upsize by 2-3 core. Whilst larger in size, Aluminium is significantly lighter in weight, which can be a consideration in some cases.

The PVC outer sheathing is suitable for internal and external installations, and is CPR Compliant. It is flame retardant and UV resistant. Consideration in specification should be given where the cables are installed in buildings designated 'high risk' as it may be appropriate to consider LSZH sheathing materials to improve performance in the event of a fire.

Variants suited exclusively for external use (with MDPE sheathing and optional additional waterblocking properties- E-2XHLC2Y and E-A2XHLC2Y cables) are also available.

Voltage Ratings for E-2XHLCY and E-A2XHLCY Cables

Manufactured in accordance with IEC 60502-2 and HD 620 10-A, these cables are available in voltages of:

6/10 (12)kV – Test Voltage 21kV
8.7/15 (17.5)kV – Test Voltage 30.45kV
12/20 (24)kV – Test Voltage 42kV
18/30 (36)kV – Test Voltage 63kV
