Type 440 and Type 441 Flexible Rubber Mining Cables
Expanding upon Eland Cables' range of Australian and New Zealand Standard cables for the Mining industry are the Type 440 and Type 441 cables flexible rubber trailing cables.
Their robust sheathing of heavy-duty Polychloroprene (PCP - for the Type 440) and Chlorosulphonated Polyethylene (CSP - for the Type 441) sees them well-suited to the demands of repeated trailing and reeling for dynamic equipment in these harsh environments, whilst the Type 441 cable has a layer of polyamide yarns as additional reinforcement under the outer sheathing. They are also often used in long runs where other cables are not suited due to pilot cores not offering the required resistance level.
Type 440 and Type 441 Cable Voltage Ratings
Type 440 and Type 441 cables are available as a 3+3+1 configuration - 3 power cores plus 3 earth cores plus 1 pilot core - and in a range of stranded tinned copper cross-sectional area sizes. The Type 440 cable is provided in voltage ratings of 1.1kV, 3.3kV, 6.6kV and 11kV, whilst the Type 441 cable is available in the same voltages but with the addition of 22kV as well. Both cables are EPR insulated and so provide an operating temperature range of between -25C to +90C.
These mining cables are manufactured in accordance with AS/NZS 2802: 2000, AS/NZS 1125:2001, and AS/NZS 2802:2003, and as well as being water resistant, flame retardant, UV, sunlight and ozone resistant.
