Type 209 Type 210 Rubber Mining Cables
Type 209 and Type 210 cables are used as flexible feeder cables for general use across a range of Mining applications. The smaller cross-sectional sized cables are associated with mobile handheld machinery such as drills but can also be used for items such as fans and pumps. Manufactured in accordance with Australian & New Zealand standards, they are specified the world over for large scale opencast mining operations. As with all such mining cables, the Type 209 and Type 210 cables are flame retardant, water resistant and oil resistant.
Type 209 and Type 210 Mining Cable Voltages
Type 210 cables are provided as standard at a voltage rating of 1.1kV; Type 209 cables are available in voltages of 1.1kV, 3.3kV, 6.6kV and 11kV. Both cable types are assembled as three tinned copper insulated power cores with a central pilot core, sheathed in a heavy-duty Polychloroprene compound.
Whilst for both Type 209 and Type 210 the pilot core is there for reinforcement, it is sometimes used for monitoring if connected accordingly and a very low voltage is applied. Any such usage should be confirmed with the individual application.
