The S1108 cable (formerly referenced as 1-108 & EME-SP-14-025) is a London Underground Approved trackfeeder cable designed to provide power to the traction conductor rail as part of the DC traction circuit. It can also be used to connect two lengths of conductor rail to each other.
It is immediately identifiable by the yellow stripe that runs down the length of the outer sheath.
The S1108 cable is made up of a stranded tinned copper conductor, EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) insulation, and an LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) outer sheathing, and is designed to be run in internal and enclosed spaces, including tunnels.
Available with cross-sectional areas of 500mm2, 630mm2 and 935mm2, the cable has a Voltage Rating of 750V DC.
