The 6381Y is a flexible low voltage fixed wiring cable manufactured to BS6004, a British Standard covering electrical power, lighting and internal wiring. It is also Flame Retardant according to IEC/EN 60332-1-2 and CPR compliant.
It is often referred to as a double insulated cable, with both PVC insulation and sheathing over the copper conductor (and no additional component layers between them).
The 6381Y cable is suitable for AC and DC power supplies on telecommunication industry equipment such as telephone exchanges and power applications where flexibility is required. It is suitable for BT installations as it meets the flammability requirements of BT M231.
This fixed wiring cable should not be exposed to the risk of mechanical damage. It can be installed in trays, clipped, or suspended.
The voltage rating for this cable depends on the conductor size; 1.5mm2 to 35mm2 has a voltage rating of 450/750V and 50mm2 and above has a voltage rating of 0.6/1kV.
Depending on the installation requirements, the choice of sheath colour is Grey, Blue, and Green/Yellow. Special colours can be available on request.
