Some applications are subject to torque and torsional stresses by nature of either the environment they are installed into or the actions they are expected to perform during their lifespan. This needs to be specifically considered when selecting a cable for an application.

NTSCGEWÖW Cable Specification

The NTSCGEWÖW Cable, sometimes written as NTSCGEWOEW (where the umlaut is substituted for 'OE') is a cable that can withstand torsional stresses up to ±100°/m. 

The NTSCGEWÖW is a medium voltage cable for loop applications and other power distribution requirements in wind turbines but can also have uses in other renewables projects and in other industries including Mining where a robust torsion resistant cable can be beneficial in trailing equipment applications.

It has a special ethylene propylene rubber insulation, and polychloroprene rubber sheathing. The materials used in the construction of the NTSCGEWÖW are robust and abrasion resistant, offer UV, ozone and oil resistance and excellent flame retardant properties. It also has a wide operating temperature range, suitable for use in cold climates and environments down to -40^oC. 

NTSCGEWÖW Cable Voltages and sizes

The Eland Cables portfolio highlights the 6kV cable but other voltages are available. It has tinned copper conductors - both single and multicore options - with the 3-core versions having a full-size earth core.
