The NTSCGEWÖW is a medium voltage cable for loop applications and other power distribution requirements in wind turbines but can also have uses in wider renewables projects and in other industries including Mining where a robust torsion resistant cable can be beneficial in trailing equipment applications.
Some applications are subject to torque and torsional stresses by nature of either the environment they are installed into or the actions they are expected to perform during their lifespan. This needs to be specifically considered when selecting a cable for an application.
The NTSCGEWÖW Cable, sometimes written as NTSCGEWOEW (where the umlaut is substituted for 'OE') is a cable that can withstand torsional stresses up to ±100°/m.
The cable, available in both single and multicore configurations, has a tinned copper conductor, with the 3-core versions having a full-size earth core.
The insulation is a special ethylene propylene rubber, and outer sheathing is a polychloroprene rubber. The materials used in the construction of the NTSCGEWÖW are robust and abrasion resistant, offer UV, ozone, and oil resistance, as well as excellent flame retardant properties.
The cable also benefits from a wide operating temperature range, suitable for use in cold climates and environments down to -40oC.
We offer the NTSCGEWÖW cable at a voltage rating of 3.6/6kV as standard, but other voltages are available on request.
