• Standards & Voltage Rating: BS8436. 300/500V. Flame Retardant to IEC/EN 60332-1-2. Low Smoke Halogen Free to IEC/EN 60754-1/2, IEC/EN 61034-1/2.
• Construction: Class 1 solid or Class 2 stranded copper conductor, Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, Tubed aluminium screen, and Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) outer sheath. 
• Details: BASEC approved. Added fire protection capabilities. Reduced electromagnetic interference. Meets BS 7671:2018 requirements. CPR compliant.

This BASEC approved multi-purpose fixed wiring cable with added fire protection capabilities, is manufactured in accordance with BS8436. It provides reduced electromagnetic interference making it ideal when electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is a consideration.

BS8436 Cable Specification

With a voltage rating of 300/500V and constructed with a Tubed Aluminium Screen, it can be installed in walls, partitions and building voids where there may be risk of damage or penetration from nails or other fixings. This meets the requirements of the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2018 (incorporating Amendment 3) 2015 for concealed cables at a depth of less than 50mm, Regulation 522.6.201 to 522.6.204.

The BS8436 LSZH cables has a temperature rating of -25^oC to +90^oC and has a Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) oversheath, making it particularly suitable for public buildings and places with essential equipment where, in the event of fire, emissions of fumes and gases may be hazardous. Cables are sized from 1mm² to 4mm², in 2-core, 3-core and 4-core configurations, with or without a green-yellow earth core.
