- Standards & Voltage Rating: BS6004. Flame Retardant to IEC/EN 60332-1-2. 300/500V.
- Construction: Class 5 flexible stranded copper conductor, and Arctic Grade Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) insulation and outer sheath.
- Details: Maintains flexibility down to -40oC temperatures. Often referred to as Arctic flex or Arctic flexible cable. BASEC approved. CPR rated. Available in blue or yellow sheathing.

Our 318-A Arctic grade cables, also known as Arctic flex or Arctic flexible cable, are manufactured in accordance with BS6004 and are both PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) insulated and PVC sheathed.
It's the type of PVC polymer that is used that sets it apart from the standard 318-Y cable though as it's designed for temperatures as low as -40° Celsius, making them ideal for refrigerated rooms.
The PVC used in the sheathing and insulation layers help maintain flexibility even at sub-zero temperatures - and so at room temperature these arctic grade cables offer some of the characteristics otherwise associated with elastomeric cables.
Our range of 318-A cables are available in 2 core and 3 core variants, and have a voltage rating of 300/500V.
These cables are BASEC approved and CPR compliant.
Many people associated Arctic Grade cables with the yellow sheath colour - these are available from stock, but so are Blue sheathed options. The asterisk in the Eland Part Number would be replaced by the colour code for the sheathing, with B for Blue and Y for Yellow.
