The NSHTOU cable, available both with a reinforced heavy-duty rubber sheathing and with PUR, can be used wherever cables are frequently reeled, unreeled, or guided by roller trains. NSHTOU is designed with simultaneous tensile and torsional stress in mind, for applications under heavy mechanical stress such as hoists, conveyors, cranes, multispiral and monospiral drum and drag cables, hawsers, and other building machinery, and have common use within the mining industry for mobile equipment and dynamic static processing equipment. The variation (N)SHTOU offers a cable capable of handling applications with greater torsional stress. 

Opencast Mining Operations - Type 21 Cable

This cable has applications in rough surface mining operations where it is may also be referred to as Type 21 cable. With the harsh environmental impact on cables and other components, the cables are designed to act as flexible trailing cables under heavy-duty stresses.

Our NSHTÖU-O and (N)SHTÖU-O cables (without earth conductor) and the NSHTÖU-J and (N)SHTÖU-J cables (without green/yellow earth conductor) offer resistance against oils and UV light. Additional resistance to the operational stresses is provided by an anti-torsion polyester braid.

NSHTÖU and (N)SHTÖU cables are suitable for outdoor installations and in dry, moist or wet rooms. They have an operating temperature range of -25oC to +60oC when flexed and -40oC to +60oC when fixed.

All variations, including the PUR-sheathed cable, are available with 4, 5, 7, 12, 18, 24, 30, 42 or 45 cores. The choice of rubber or PUR sheathing will depend on the individual application and installation environment.
