Construction: Class 1 solid (11kV) or Class 2 stranded (33kV) aluminium conductor, Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, Copper wire and tape screen, Binding tape separator, and Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE) outer sheath.
Details: G81 approved manufacturing. Triplex formation for 11kV and single core for 33kV.

ENW cables are Medium voltage DNO power cable approved to Electricity North West (ENW) specification and manufactured by G81 suppliers for connections from existing grid to new sub-main developments.

In total, Electricity North West owns and maintains over 44,000km of underground cable and 13,000km of overhead line wire.

The Electricity North West 11kV cable is in triplex formation - three single cores wound together - with solid Class 1 Aluminium conductors. For the 33kV cable they are single core Class 2 rigid stranded Aluminium.

They are sheathed in a robust abrasion and tear-resistant MDPE (Medium Density Polyethylene) as these cables are for external installation, usually in cable ducts.

For both cables, the screen cross-sectional area size is tailored to these specifications.
