• Construction: Class 1 solid aluminium (11kV) or Class 2 stranded copper (33kV) conductor, Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, Copper wire and tape screen, Binding tape separator, Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE) outer sheath.
• Details: G81-approved manufacturing. Triplex formation for 11kV and single core for 33kV. Available from stock.

Covering the power networks of North-East of England, Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire is Northern Powergrid (NPG). Providing power to 8 million people in 2.9 million homes, new sub-main developments on Northern Powergrid networks are installed by NERS registers ICPs and IDNOs.  

NPG Cable Sizes and Voltages

NPG cables are supplied in 6.35/11kV and 19/33kV voltages. These medium voltage cables are manufactured to their own strict specifications in G81-approved facilities, having defined both core and screen sizes and material configurations. The NPG 11kV cable is supplied in triplex formation - 3 single cores wound together (rather than a 3-core cable under a collective sheathing) in 95mm², 185mm² and 300mm² conductor area sizes. The NPG 33kV is a single core cable in 500mm², 630mm² and 800mm² sizes.
