Silicone Cable SIA SIAF & SIAF-GL

Our silicone cables are designed for use in environments with sustained temperature extremes or fluctuations, making them suitable for a range of industrial applications such as power plants, refrigeration, food processing, ships and aircrafts, furnaces and ovens, steel mills and casting houses. these cables are also widely used in the Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals industry.

Eland Cables supplies a comprehensive range of silicone cables, including SIA (H05S-U), SIAF (H05S-K) and SIAF-GL, with a temperature range of -60oc to +180oC. These cables are suitable for applications where low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) properties are required such as public buildings, and for the protection of human lives or sensitive equipment in the event of a fire.

The voltage rating of our silicone cables is 300/500V for core sizes up to 6mm2 and 600/1000V on larger sizes, when protected.

In addition to our silicone cables' stability at extreme temperatures, some of their other unique properties include:

Exceptional insulation High dielectric strength and moisture resistance ensuring the long-term reliability of the cables, even in moist and corrosive conditions
Weather resistant Ozone, UV light, and radiation resistant
Lightweight Lighter weight than comparable cables with plastic or rubber insulation
Organically inert Silicone rubbers do not support organic growth (eg. fungal, bacterial, etc) making them ideal for the food and medical industries
Flame retardant Compliant with various flame test requirements and standards

Silicone - SIA cables - H05S-U

SIA cables have a solid single core, hence their lower levels of flexibility than their SIAF equivalents:

Conductor Solid tinned copper (class 1)
Insulation Silicone rubber

Silicone - SIAF cables - H05S-K

SIAF cables are flexible single core silicone cables.
The construction of SIAF cables is as follows:

Conductor Flexible tinned copper (Class 5)
Insulation Silicone rubber

Silicone - SIAF-GL cables

SIAF-GL cables have a similar construction to SIAF cables and have a flexible glass braid (FGB) for additional mechanical protection.
The construction of SIAF-GL is as follows:

Conductor Flexible tinned copper (Class 5)
Insulation Silicone rubber
External braid FGB
