The RE-2G(st)H are fire resistant instrumentation cables manufactured in accordance with British and European standard BS EN 50288. They are designed to connect electrical instrument circuits and to provide analogue and digital communication services in and around processing plants such as those found in the petrochemical and power generation industries owing to their ability to withstand electromagnetic interference.
RE-2G(st)H are typically used in areas where circuit integrity is required in the event of fire. These cables' sheaths have low smoke zero halogen properties.
RE-2G(st)H Cable Construction
|Conductor||Stranded copper conductor (Class 2)|
|Insulation||Silicone rubber (EI2)|
|Individual and collective screen (ICAM) or collective screen (CAM)||
Polyester tape (PET)
Aluminium / polyester tape (AL/PET) with tinned drain wire
|Inner sheath||-||Low smoke zero halogen (LSZH)|
|Armour||-||Galvanised steel wire armour (GSWA)|
|Outer sheath||Low smoke zero halogen (LSZH)|
Whilst the standard RE-2G(st)H is not suitable for direct burial, the armoured version is suitable for such applications.
Our RE-2G(st)H cables are available in the following variants:
|Collectively screened multi-core|
|Collectively screened multi-pair|
|Collectively and individually screened pairs in metal foil (PiMF)|
|Collectively and individually screened triple in metal foil (TiMF)|
These cables generally have a voltage rating of 300/500V, however we also supply a variant with a 90V and 500V rating. Their operating temperature range is from -30oC to +90oC.
RE-2G(st)H Sheath colour scheme
|Blue||Ex-proof connections in explosive and flammable environments (intrinsically safe)|
|Black||UV resistant (Outdoor applications)|
Our technical datasheets list the RE-2G(st)H cable range as available in core sizes, pairs and triples numbering between 2 and 24. Our portfolio of BS EN 50288 cables also includes Polyethylene insulated and PVC sheathed variants such as the RE-2Y(st)Y cable, and XLPE insulated, LSZH sheathed variations such as RE-2X(st)H cable. For more information on these cables, larger cable sizes, and our wider instrumentation cable range of NF M 87-202 French standard and BS5308 British standard cables, please speak to our technical team.
