19/33kV & 25/44kV Railway Power Transmission cables - NR/PS/ELP/00008

We are a leading supplier of 19/33kV and 25/44kV medium voltage cables manufactured as part of our Network Rail NR/PS/ELP/00008 range. This Railway & Metro industry range of medium voltage cables (often referred to as MV cable) are used to supply three-phase AC electrical power to traction substations on electrified lines.

The 33kV and 44kV cables are designed to supply power to DC and AC electrified lines respectively. These cables are available with an MDPE or low smoke zero halogen outersheath, the latter being suitable for use underground and in tunnels.

The sheaths are graphite coated to allow sheath integrity testing. All cables have a bedding of water-swellable semi-conductive tape and a copper wire screen, helically wound with equalising copper tape.

The 44kV cable is sometimes referred to by its overhead line equipment reference 148/450 and the entire range of cables were formerly known under their Railtrack code of RT/E/PS/00008.
